Landschaft ausstellen
Über den Transfer von Landschaft in den Innenraum
Is it possible to transfer landscape into the interior space? If so, how? Can landscape as this complex, context-dependent system be exhibited at all? Or can it only be reproduced fragmentarily, aspectually and broken down into its single components? Is it then still landscape? And what role can the profession of landscape architecture play in orchestrating this process?
Exhibiting Landscape. Transferring landscape into the Interior Space tries to find answers to these questions. The professional relevance of the medium „exhibition“ is illuminated from a landscape architectural perspective, and the interface between landscape architecture, the fine arts and exhibition practice is being explored.
The landscape in the interior is a fragmented and a concentrated landscape that only comes to life through its isolation and spatial recontextualization, as well as through the sensual perception and imagination of the viewer. The focus of observation is being sharpened and directed towards specific aspects of a landscape. Atmosphere, natural phenomena, sounds and smells are being made tangible and thus contribute to create a stage for landscape research and design in the cultural and art spaces.
The master‘s thesis is divided into three parts:
The theoretical-analytical thesis Exhibiting Landscape.
The spatial installation Reminiszenz an die Alpenblume.
The project index and catalogue Landschaftskatalog.
Master's thesis 2018, Technical University Munich
Awards: Young Talent Award bdla Bayern (Association of German Landscape Architects), Prize of the Mayor of the city of Freising
Chair: Chair of Landscape Architecture and Public Space (Prof. Regine Keller)
